The Ahuriri Tributaries Catchment Group invites you to an evening with
the Right Honourable Simon Upton, Parliamentary Commissioner for
the Environment, on Tuesday 29 April.

We have invited the Commissioner to Hawke’s Bay to speak on the vital role of communities, Mana Whenua, and catchment groups in land use, climate resilience, and environmental adaptation.
The Commissioner’s role is unique – holding broad powers to investigate environmental concerns independently of the government. His mission is clear: to maintain and improve the quality of Aotearoa’s environment through independent reports and advice.
The evening will conclude with plenty of time for a Q&A session, providing a unique opportunity for you to share your experiences, insights, and challenges directly with the Commissioner. He is always eager to learn from local communities to further his work in safeguarding New Zealand’s environment.
