– Help protect and enhance the wellbeing of our catchment and the water flowing from it into Te Whanganui a Orotū (Ahuriri Estuary)
– Connect and inspire people to take action
– Support our catchment community with exciting nature-based initiatives
If you’re passionate about nature-based solutions for social, cultural and environmental well-being and you have a knack for inspiring others to get involved, this role is for you.
At Ahuriri Tributaries Catchment Group, our vision is for a thriving catchment with abundant native vegetation and birds, healthier waterways, and where land use enhances the natural environment.
As our second Catchment Coordinator, you will connect with our catchment community and inspire them to our vision; supporting groups, property and landowners to take action.
First and foremost, you will be a people person with experience of working with communities. Ideally you would also have a natural affinity with people who work the land, and those who’ve chosen the lifestyle that comes with living in the hills surrounding the Ahuriri Estuary.
If your professional background includes any of the biological or social sciences, even better. Likewise, your knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori would be welcome, and knowing your way around MS office applications is a must.
This is a part-time role of 8 hours a week (with the possibility of more, when we get more funding) and the contract includes an allowance for using your own vehicle to get around the catchment.
If you’re excited at the prospect of working in nature and inspiring people to nature-based action, we would love to hear from you.
If you have questions, please call our Chairman, Robert Pattullo on 0274 962 720. For contract details, including the role requirements, please email admin@ahuriricatchment.nz.
To apply, send your CV and cover letter to robert@ahuriricatchment.nz by Friday 11 October, 2024.
